Intended use and contr
aindications
This device is intended to be used by adults (+18 y
ears old) to measure people
’
s blood pressur
e
that includes systolic, diastolic and heartbeat pulse rate
. T
his device is to be used for intermittent
measurements only
. F
or home usage only.
The use of this blood pressure monitor is not int
ended as a substitute for a consultation with your doctor
.
This device has not been tested for and henc
e is not intended for neonatal and infant subjects,
pregnant, including pre-eclamptic users.
What you should know about blood pressur
e
Blood pressure constantly changes thr
oughout the day
. It rises sharply in the early morning and
declines during the late morning. Blood pressure rises again in the afternoon and nally drops t
o
a low level at night. Also
, it may vary in a short period of time. Ther
efore, r
eadings from successive
measurements can uctuate.
This device will display your blood pr
essure reading ref
erring to two values: systolic and diastolic
through the principle of pressure oscillation.
The sy
stolic blood pressure (the upper number) indicates
how much pressure your blood is e
xerting against your arter
y walls when the heart beats. T
he
diastolic blood pressure (the low
er number) indicates how much pressure y
our blood is exerting
against your artery walls while the hear
t is resting between beats.
The pulse value is also display
ed
after each measurement.
Blood pressure measured in a doctor’
s oce only pro
vides a momentary value. Repeated
measurements at home better reect one
’
s actual blood pressure v
alues under everyday conditions.
Moreover
, man
y people have a dieren
t blood pressure when they measure at home because they
tend to be more relax
ed than when in the doctor’s oc
e. Regular blood pressure measuremen
ts taken
at home can provide your doctor with valuable inf
ormation on your normal blood pressure values
under actual «everyday» conditions.
The ESH (European Society of Hypertension) and WHO (World Health Organisation) have set up the
following standard blood pr
essure values when measured with a resting pulse at home:
Blood pressure
(mmHg)
Normal values
Grade 1
mild
hypertension
Grade 2
moderate
hypertension
Grade 3
severe
hypertension
SYS = systole
(upper value)
up to 134
135-159
160-179
≥180
DIA = diastole
(lower value)
up to 84

Safety information and important precautions
T
o ensure ac
curate measuring results, r
ead the complete instructions for use carefully
.
People suering fr
om cardiac arrhythmia, vascular constriction, arteriosclerosis in the extremities,
diabetes or users of cardiac pacemakers should consult their doctor befor
e measuring their blood
pressure themselves
. Deviations in blood pressure values may occur in such cases
.
If your blood pressure reading is in the sev
ere hypertension range with values of 180 mmHg systolic
and above, and/or 110 mmHg diastolic and abo
ve; and you nd you hav
e one or two readings in this
range - please see your doctor straight away
.
If you are under medical treatment or taking any medication, please consult y
our doctor rst.
Avoid compr
ession or restriction of the connection tubing. Continuous cu pressure due t
o the
connection tubing kink
ing can aect blood ow and cause possible injury to the user
.
It is not recommended to use this device on the arm of the same side of the body on which the user
had a mastectomy
.
English
Measuring blood pressure too frequently can cause injury to the user due to blood ow interference
.
It is not recommended to apply the cu to a limb on which there is intra
vascular access or on which
an arterio-venous (A-V
) shunt is present.
This can cause temporary interference of blood ow and
potential injury to the user
.
DO NOT apply the cu ov
er a wound as this can cause further injur
y
.
It is not recommended to use the device while simultaneously using other medical electrical (ME)
equipment on the same limb.
Key rules f
or accurat
e blood pressure measurement
Always take readings at the same time of da
y, under the same c
onditions.
Do not take a measurement within 30 minutes of smoking, drinking coee or tea or any f
orm of
exertion. T
hese factors will inuence the measurement.
Ensure at least 5 minutes of quiet rest bef
ore measurements. If possible, it is r
ecommended to rest
10 minutes before taking the measurement.
T
ry to always use the same resting time bef
ore taking a
measurement.
Always measure on the same arm.
The left arm is recommended
. Do not move or speak. Sit
comfortably, keep y
our legs uncrossed and feet at on the oor
, back and arm supported.
Place the cu in direct contact with the skin. Do not wrap the cu over a jacket, sweater or shirt.
If you want to take multiple measurements
, wait approximately 5 minutes bef
ore repeating a
measurement.

Choosing the right cu
For accur
ate measurement, it is important to choose the correct size cu which best ts your upper
arm. Choose the cu size according to y
our arm circumference and make sur
e the bottom of the cu is
2~3cm above your elbow
.
•
Small/Medium Cu = 22~32cm arm circumference
•
Large/XLarge Cu = 32~42cm arm circumfer
ence
•
This cu is suitable for use if the <<index>> mark falls within the <<ok range>> marked by two
arrows when the cu is tightened ar
ound your arm (Fig
. 3).
