FIRST USE
1. Remove the thermometer from the travel case.
2. Slide o the battery cover.
3. Take the battery out.
4. Remove the plastic insulating strip.
5. Insert the battery back into the compartment with the correct polarity.
6. Replace the battery cover.
7. Before use, clean the tip with a damp cloth.
GUIDELINES
For the most accurate measurement, follow these guidelines:
To determine elevated temperature and fever, the users normal temperature must rst be determined.
Take several readings when the user is in a healthy state and note the result for later comparison.
The thermometer and user should be in the same temperature environment for at least 30 minutes before
taking a reading.
The user should not drink, eat, be physically active or bathe prior to taking the reading.
Do not breastfeed before or during the reading.
MEASUREMENT
The thermometer uses two phases of measurement – predictive and precision.
Predictive measurement gives you a reading in about 5 seconds, providing quick information on whether you
have a fever. This type of measurement is very accurate and uses an algorithm to calculate the temperature
that would have been reached with a full-length measurement (for example, 5 minutes). However, to achieve
the most accurate result and to ne-tune the measurement, there is a second phase – precision measurement.
Precision measurement renes and aligns the predictive ndings of the thermometer to the most accurate
reading over a period of several minutes.
Note: The measurement time may vary depending on the mode used, the environment and the users
condition.
3
Taking a reading:
1. Clean the tip with a damp cloth.
2. Turn on the thermometer by pressing the power button.
3. Three colours (green/orange/red) will ash in sequence on the thermometer, followed by the last reading
taken, the selected mode (orL / udr / rct / bth), then three dashes ( - - - ) and the measurement icon indica-
ting that the thermometer is now ready for use.
4. Place the thermometer in the chosen place – the dashes on the display will start to move and the measu-
rement icon in the right corner will begin to ash, indicating that the thermometer has successfully
started taking a reading.
5. The thermometer will complete predictive measurement after approx. 5 seconds, emitting an audible signal
(5 beeps for about 5 seconds) and lighting up the display in the corresponding colour. The measurement icon
will also stop ashing. At this point, it is possible to stop but if you want the temperature reading to be as
accurate as possible, follow the points below.
6. Next the thermometer will start the precision measurement phase.
7. Keep the thermometer in place and wait.
8. After a few minutes (depending on the measurement site), a second, longer audible signal will sound
(10 beeps for about 10 seconds) and the measurement icon will disappear.
9. The display will then show the precise measured value.
10. After taking a reading, turn o the thermometer by pressing the power button. Alternatively, it will switch
itself o after 10 minutes to save battery.
COLOURED BACKLIGHT
The thermometer also indicates the measured temperature using the coloured backlight of the display.
Temperature up to 37.2 °C (98.96 °F) – green backlight (normal body temperature)
Temperature from 37.3 to 37.7 °C (from 99.14 to 99.86 °F) – orange backlight (elevated temperature)
Temperature 37.8 °C (100.04 °F) and above – red light (fever) + audible fever alert
SELECTING THE MEASUREMENT MODE
The thermometer allows you to measure the temperature in three places on the body and the temperature of
water. To achieve the most accurate results, set the thermometer‘s measurement mode for the specic site you
are taking the reading from. To select the mode, proceed as follows:
1. Turn on the thermometer by pressing the power button.
2. When the currently selected mode appears on the display, press and hold the power button for about 3 se-
conds until the display ashes.
3. Now you can toggle between modes, by pressing the power button.
4. After choosing the mode, simply wait until the display stops ashing and the thermometer will display
3 dashes ( - - - ) and the measurement icon indicating the thermometer is ready to take a reading.
5. Take a temperature reading.
orL – Oral mode – for measuring the temperature from the mouth
udr – Underarm mode – for measuring the temperature from the armpit
rct – Rectal mode – for measuring the temperature from the rectum
bth – Bath mode – for measuring water temperature
MEASUREMENTS IN INDIVIDUAL MODES
1. Oral mode
a. Before using the thermometer, do not eat or drink anything
(especially hot and cold food or drinks) and keep your mouth
closed for 310 minutes before starting the measurement.
b. Place the thermometer in your mouth under your tongue in one
of the two pockets to the left or right of the root of the tongue.
c. Close your mouth and try to breathe evenly through your nose
during the measurement (so that the reading is not aected by
airow).
4
2. Underarm mode
a. Clean and dry your armpit.
b. Insert the thermometer into your armpit and hold your arm rmly against your body (so that the measu-
rement is not aected by the surrounding air).
Note: From a medical point of view, underarm measurement is the least accurate.
3. Rectal mode
a. Use a suitable lubricant on the exible tip of the thermometer.
b. Carefully and slowly insert the thermometer about 1 cm into the rectum.
4. Bath mode
a. Immerse the measuring tip in water and wait for the audible signal.
Note: Do not submerge the thermometer completely. Do not exceed the measurement range of the thermo-
meter.
PREVIOUS READINGS
The thermometer has a memory of the last 10 measurements. To view them, proceed as follows:
1. Turn on the thermometer by pressing the power button.
2. When the last measured value appears on the display, press and hold the power button.
3. The thermometer will display the previous readings.
4. Press the power button again to toggle between individual readings.
5. To exit memory mode, hold down the power button for about 3 seconds and the thermometer will turn o.
CHANGING MEASUREMENT UNITS
The thermometer can display values in both Celsius and Fahrenheit. By default, the thermometer is set to Cel-
sius. To switch between units, proceed as follows.
1. With the thermometer turned o, press the power button and hold it for about 3 seconds.
2. While the button is being held down, the thermometer will turn on, change temperature units and get ready
to take a reading.
3. You can see your selection in the upper right corner of the display.
REPLACING THE BATTERY
When the battery is low, the empty battery icon appears on the thermometer display in the lower right cor-
ner. To replace the battery, proceed as follows:
1. Slide the battery cover o.
2. Take the battery out.
3. Insert the new battery with the correct polarity into the compartment.
4. Put the battery cover back on.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Error message Possible cause Solution
--- The temperature is below
32.0 °C (89.6 °F)
Turn o the thermometer, wait at least 1 minute
and repeat the measurement. Make sure you
follow the instructions in this manual.
The temperature is higher than
43.9 °C (111.0 °F)
The thermometer moved whilst
taking the reading.
Turn the thermometer o and on again and
repeat the measurement. Do not move the
thermometer when taking the reading and be
sure to keep it securely in one place.
Predictive measurement time
exceeded 15 seconds.
The ambient temperature may be too low,
repeat the measurement when the ambient
temperature is higher.
If you had a cold drink beforehand, wait at least
15 minutes and take the reading again.
If the thermometer moved when taking the
reading, try it again, making sure to keep the
thermometer in one place.
Dead battery. Replace the battery with a new one.
The thermometer is not working
properly and may be damaged.
Remove the battery from the thermometer,
wait at least 1 minute, replace the battery
and try using the thermometer again. If the
error message still appears, contact customer
support.
