Safety, performance, and dependability have been given
top priority in the design of your circular saw.
INTENDED USE
The circular saw is intended to be used only by adults who
have read and understood the instructions and warnings
in this manual and can be considered responsible for their
actions.
The saw is designed for rip- and cross-cutting of wood or
similar materials up to a maximum depth of 54 mm. It can
make straight or bevelled cuts between 0 and 45 degrees.
It is to be used with the base of the tool in contact with
the workpiece. It should only be used in a dry, well lit
and well ventilated area. The circular saw is designed for
handheld use. It is not to be mounted onto a workbench
unless speciÞ c instructions about how to do this are given
by the manufacturer of the saw. Do not use for cutting
metal or masonry. Do not use the product in any way other
than those stated for intended use. Use of the product
for operations different from intended could result in a
hazardous situation.
WARNING
Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure
to follow the warnings and instructions may result in
electric shock, Þ re and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
CIRCULAR SAW SAFETY WARNINGS
CUTTING PROCEDURES
DANGER
Keep hands away from cutting area and the blade.
Keep your second hand on auxiliary handle, or
motor housing. If both hands are holding the saw, they
cannot be cut by the blade.
ŶDo not reach underneath the workpiece. The guard
cannot protect you from the blade below the workpiece.
ŶAdjust the cutting depth to the thickness of the
workpiece. Less than a full tooth of the blade teeth
should be visible below the workpiece.
ŶNever hold piece being cut in your hands or across
your leg. Secure the workpiece to a stable platform.
It is important to support the work properly to minimize
body exposure, blade binding, or loss of control.
ŶHold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces
only, when performing an operation where the
cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or its own
cord. Contact with a “live” wire will also make exposed
metal parts of the power tool “live” and could give the
operator an electric shock.
ŶWhen ripping, always use a rip fence or straight
edge guide. This improves the accuracy of cut and
reduces the chance of blade binding.
ŶAlways use blades with correct size and shape
(diamond versus round) of arbour holes. Blades that
do not match the mounting hardware of the saw will run
eccentrically, causing loss of control.
ŶNever use damaged or incorrect blade washers
or bolt. The blade washers and bolt were specially
designed for your saw, for optimum performance and
safety of operation.
KICKBACK CAUSES AND RELATED WARNINGS:
ŶKickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched, bound or
misaligned saw blade, causing an uncontrolled saw to
lift up and out of the workpiece toward the operator.
ŶWhen the blade is pinched or bound tightly by the kerf
closing down, the blade stalls and the motor reaction
drives the unit rapidly back toward the operator.
ŶIf the blade becomes twisted or misaligned in the cut,
the teeth at the back edge of the blade can dig into the
top surface of the wood causing the blade to climb out
of the kerf and jump back toward the operator.
Kickback is the result of saw misuse and/or incorrect
operating procedures or conditions and can be avoided by
taking proper precautions as given below.
ŶMaintain a firm grip with both hands on the saw
and position your arms to resist kickback forces.
Position your body to either side of the blade, but
not in line with the blade. Kickback could cause the
saw to jump backwards, but kickback forces can be
controlled by the operator, if proper precautions are
taken.
ŶWhen blade is binding, or when interrupting a cut
for any reason, release the trigger and hold the saw
motionless in the material until the blade comes
to a complete stop. Never attempt to remove the
saw from the work or pull the saw backward while
the blade is in motion or kickback may occur.
Investigate and take corrective actions to eliminate the
cause of blade binding.
ŶWhen restarting a saw in the workpiece, centre the
saw blade in the kerf and check that saw teeth are
not engaged into the material. If saw blade is binding,
it may walk up or kickback from the workpiece as the
saw is restarted.
ŶSupport large panels to minimise the risk of blade
pinching and kickback. Large panels tend to sag
under their own weight. Supports must be placed under
the panel on both sides, near the line of cut and near
the edge of the panel.
ŶDo not use dull or damaged blades. Unsharpened
or improperly set blades produce narrow kerf causing
excessive friction, blade binding and kickback.
ŶBlade depth and bevel adjusting locking levers
must be tight and secure before making cut. If blade
adjustment shifts while cutting, it may cause binding
and kickback.
ŶUse extra caution when sawing into existing walls
or other blind areas. The protruding blade may cut
objects that can cause kickback.

LOWER GUARD FUNCTION
ŶCheck lower guard for proper closing before each
use. Do not operate the saw if lower guard does not
move freely and close instantly. Never clamp or
tie the lower guard into the open position. If saw is
accidentally dropped, lower guard may be bent. Raise
the lower guard with the retracting handle and make
sure it moves freely and does not touch the blade or
any other part, in all angles and depths of cut.
ŶCheck the operation of the lower guard spring.
If the guard and the spring are not operating
properly, they must be serviced before use. Lower
guard may operate sluggishly due to damaged parts,
gummy deposits, or a build-up of debris.
ŶLower guard may be retracted manually only for
special cuts such as “plunge cuts” and “compound
cuts”. Raise lower guard by retracting handle and as
soon as blade enters the material, the lower guard
must be released. For all other sawing, the lower guard
should operate automatically.
ŶAlways observe that the lower guard is covering
the blade before placing saw down on bench or
floor. An unprotected, coasting blade will cause the
saw to walk backwards, cutting whatever is in its path.
Be aware of the time it takes for the blade to stop after
switch is released.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR WOOD CUTTING BLADE
ŶPlease read the manual and instructions carefully
before using the saw blade and the power tool.
ŶThe power tool must be in good condition, the spindle
without deformation and vibration.
ŶDo not use the saw without the guards in position. Keep
guards in good working order and properly maintained.
ŶEnsure the operator is adequately trained in safety
precautions, adjustment, and operation of the power
tool.
ŶAlways wear goggles and ear protection when using
the power tool. It is recommended to wear gloves,
sturdy non-slip shoes.
ŶBefore using any accessory, consult the instruction
manual. The improper use of an accessory can cause
damage and increase the potential for injury.
ŶUse only blades specified in this manual, complying
with EN 847-1.
ŶObserve the maximum speed marked on the saw
blade. Ensure the speed marked on the saw blade is at
least equal to the speed marked on the saw.
ŶAlways use blades with correct size and shape of bore
holes. Blades that do not match the mounting hardware
of the saw will run eccentrically, causing loss of control.
ŶDo not use blades of larger or smaller diameter than
recommended. Do not use any spacers to make the
blade fit onto the spindle.
ŶCheck the tips of the saw blade for damage or abnormal
appearance before each use. Tips that are damaged or
loose can become flying objects in use and increase
the chance of personal injury.
ŶDo not use cracked or distorted saw blades. Do not use
saw blades that are damaged or deformed
ŶScrap the saw blade if damaged, deformed, distorted,
or cracked; repairing is not permitted.
ŶDo not use HSS blades.
ŶEnsure the saw blade is mounted correctly. Tighten
the blade bolt securely before use (tightening torque
approx. 10-15 Nm).
ŶFastening screw and nuts shall be tightened using the
appropriate spanner.
ŶExtension of the spanner or tightening using hammer
blows is not permitted.
ŶMake sure the blade and flanges are clean and the
recessed sides of the collar are against the blade.
ŶMake sure the blade rotates in the correct direction.
ŶBefore use, make a dummy cut without the motor
turned on so the position of the blade, operation of
the guards with respect to other machine parts, and
workpiece may be checked.
ŶNever leave the power tool unattended.
ŶDo not apply lubricants on the blade when it is running.
ŶNever perform any cleaning or maintenance work when
the power tool is still running and the head is not in the
rest position.
ŶNever attempt to stop a power tool in motion rapidly
by jamming a tool or other means against the blade.
Serious accidents can be caused unintentionally in this
way.
ŶDisconnect the saw from the mains supply or battery
before changing blades or carrying out maintenance.
ŶPay attention to the blade packing and unpacking. It is
easy to be injured by the sharp blade tips.
ŶUse a blade holder or wear gloves when handling a saw
blade.
ŶKeep and store the blade in original packaging or other
suitable packaging. Keep in dry conditions and away
from chemicals which may damage the blade.
WARNING
ŶWear eye and ear protection.
ŶWear dust mask.
ŶDo not use any abrasive wheels.
ŶAvoid overheating the blade tips. Do not use dull or
damaged blades. Do not force the tool.
ŶOnly use saw blades recommended.
ŶDo not use blades of larger or smaller diameter than
recommended.
ŶUse only blades specified in this manual, complying
with EN 847-1.

ŶDo not replace the laser with a different type.
RESIDUAL RISKS
Even when the product is used as prescribed, it is still
impossible to completely eliminate certain residual risk
factors. The following hazards may arise and the operator
should pay special attention to avoid the following:
ŶInjury caused by kickback
Read and understand the information in this
manual.
ŶInjury caused by vibration
Limit exposure. See Risk Reduction.
ŶInjury caused by dust
Wear eye protection at all times. Wear appropriate
dust mask with suitable filters that can protect
against particles from the material being worked on.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke in the work area. Ensure
adequate ventilation.
ŶElectric shock
The blade may contact hidden wiring causing
parts of the product to become live. Always hold
the product by the designated handles and take
care when blind-cutting into walls and floors where
cables may be hidden.
NOTE: When working on walls, ceilings, or floors, take
care to avoid electric cables and gas or water pipes.
ŶInjury from contact with the cutting blade
The blades are sharp and will become hot during
use. Wear gloves when changing blades. Keep
hands away from the cutting area at all times. Never
hold workpiece being cut in your hands or across
your leg. Clamp the work piece whenever possible.
RISK REDUCTION
It has been reported that vibrations from handheld tools
may contribute to a condition called Raynaud’s Syndrome
in certain individuals. Symptoms may include tingling,
numbness, and blanching of the Þ ngers, usually apparent
upon exposure to cold. Hereditary factors, exposure to
cold and dampness, diet, smoking, and work practices
are all thought to contribute to the development of these
symptoms. There are measures that can be taken by the
operator to possibly reduce the effects of vibration:
ŶKeep your body warm in cold weather. When operating
the product, wear gloves to keep the hands and wrists
warm. It is reported that cold weather is a major factor
contributing to Raynaud’s Syndrome.
ŶAfter each period of operation, exercise to increase
blood circulation.
ŶTake frequent work breaks. Limit the amount of
exposure per day.
If you experience any of the symptoms of this condition,
immediately discontinue use and see your doctor about
these symptoms.
WARNING
Injuries may be caused or aggravated by prolonged use
of a tool. When using any tool for prolonged periods,
ensure you take regular breaks.
